FundingPost’s Pitching Across America is off to a great start with over 140 Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors

NEW YORK, NY (July 15, 2004) – Already a month and a half in, the FundingPost Pitching Across America competition represents the largest number of Investors judging emerging companies to ever take place. The competition has over 140 VC and Angel investor Judges from across the nation, and over 300 participating companies seeking capital. The winner will be able to pitch his company at every FundingPost event nationwide. FundingPost currently holds Venture events in 15 major cities.

“We were originally anticipating only 30-40 VC judges – which would have been great,” said Joe Rubin, Director, FundingPost. “But the response from the Venture community has been truly overwhelming. We have VC and Angel Investor judges who look at every industry voting in this competition. It is encouraging to see such a strong response, which demonstrates the current renewed interest in the venture industry.”
Pitching Across America is sponsored by Wolf Block and Holland & Knight. The competition will allow the judges to read entrepreneur profiles and rate them from 1-10. There will be one winner in each US state, and one overall winner (for a total of 50 winning companies). The winners will receive exclusive access to pitch to investors at FundingPost venture events nationwide, inclusion in a featured VC mailing, and the Top Emerging Company will pitch at every FundingPost event nationwide, including the VC-Only cocktail parties and networking functions. The winner will be the only CEO in a room full of VCs.
